Whidbey Island Race Week has made arrangements for RV and tent camping on the Navy base, located across the street from the Oak Harbor Marina and Oak Harbor Yacht Club.

Move-in will be Wednesday, July 18, 2018 at 9 am.

Move-out will be Monday, July 23, 2018 by noon.

Weekly camping fee:

  • $50 per tent
  • $100 per RV

To make your camping reservation, visit Yacht Scoring for Whidbey Island Race Week and sign up by selecting (and paying for) your camping spot. Print out and sign the Hold Harmless Form and the Navy Base Camping Rules and please bring these with you at check in.

The Navy requires that WIRW make campers aware of the following items and actions that are not allowed on the Navy base property:

  • No illegal drugs (Includes marijuana) and drug paraphernalia.
  • No weapons, explosives & fireworks.
  • No illegal activity as defined by the Revised Code of Washington or Federal Statutes.
  • No crossing the fence.
  • No photography of the Seaplane Base gate.
  • No fires or recreational cooking that would be in violation of the current burn ban.
  • No dumping of liquids on the ground.
  • No alcohol use by minors.

Other important notes:

  • Concerning trash, plan to “pack it in and pack it out.” Trash and recycle bins are located outside the Navy Base entry gate.
  • The Marina is located across the street where you’ll also find restrooms and showers (so pack some quarters!).
  • There are no pump out stations on the Navy base for RVs. Please plan ahead and make arrangements for your RV pump outs. Search Google for pump out and trip planning resources.
  • There will be a temporary fence installed that defines the camping area that is permitted for use by Whidbey Island Race Week event participants. Tampering with or crossing the fence perimeter is not permitted. Anyone found tampering with or crossing the fence perimeter will be subject to trespassing charges by the United States Navy and potentially disqualified from Whidbey Island Race Week.
